Sojourner Truth had many accomplishments. She escaped slavery with her daughter and started to live her life in Michigan. And when living in Michigan she started to work with well-known people that abolished slavery. Aint I a Woman talks about Sojourner Truth’s life as a slave and how she escaped. Truth wanted equality between men and women. Truth also wanted to stop white women from being racist towards black African American women during the abolitionist movement.

Sojourner Truth was Known for abolishing slavery. She worked very hard to make sure women had the same rights as white women. Sojourner was known as a slave herself and had escaped from slavery and was bought and sold for twenty dollars. One of Sojourner’s famous say was If the first woman God ever made was strong enough to turn the world upside down all alone, these women together ought to be able to turn back and get right side up again. And now they are asking to do it, the men better let them. (Truth, 1851). The meaning of this quote is that women should have the same rights as men. They should be able to take over things just like men do. Women should want to stand together and fight. Although, Sojourner Truth was a female activist she stood on things as a female. She abolished slavery with the help of Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Candy Stanton. She wanted women mostly to have the same rights as men and if not rights she wanted them to be equal to men.

Truths significant impact on men and women worked because her career as an abolitionist helped her as a black African American female to have rights as an activist. Truth spoke out for men and spoke out for black women about equal rights. Then that little man in black there, he says women cant have as many rights as men, because Christ wasnt a woman! Where did your Christ come from? Where did your Christ come from? From God and a woman, man had nothing to do with Him. (Truth, 1851). This Specific quote means that men mostly have all rights and women can never fight for their rights as individuals. Women should be able to have the same rights as men, as stated in the quote even if god was a man. Apart from this, Truth was an amazing woman and fought with two other amazing women who abolished slavery. And she wanted women to have equal rights as men. She wanted to point out the unfairness she experienced as an African American woman.
