Air Pollution Crisis in China and Its Impact on Economy
Air pollution is one of the key problems of the modern world, along with climate change. In large industrialized countries such as China, the emission of carbon dioxide has a negative impact on climate conditions, which is hitting the national economy. It is proposed to use the Orca technology for the processing of harmful gases, which, if applied everywhere, can significantly improve the environmental and economic situation in the country.
Like many other countries in the twenty-first century, China is experiencing air pollution problems. Technological development expressed in the industrialization of the country creates pockets of pollution, causing a greenhouse effect. Climate pollution causes floods, snow and dust storms (Chen, 2018). Such natural anomalies happen regularly, costing the national economy hundreds of billions of dollars.
Developed in Iceland, Orcas technology can absorb carbon dioxide and turn it into hard rocks stored deep underground. The principle of isolating and retaining larger molecules allows you to remove carbon dioxide directly from the air. This technology is extremely expensive, but if applied, it can solve the problem of air pollution and the impressive losses associated with it.
To date, this technology has been used exclusively in Iceland and has shown the clearest effect in absorbing harmful substances from the air compared to other developments. However, the use of Orca could be especially beneficial for the Chinese ecology and economy. The greenhouse effect in the country is really noticeable, especially through foggy clouds and a hazy atmosphere in some areas. Orca technology is capable of pumping up to 400 tons of gas per year from the air, which is an important advantage (Nicholson, 2021). The main disadvantage is the cost of implementing the technology. The installation itself costs up to $15 million, and additional money is required to process each metric ton of gas.
The introduction of Orca is beneficial in this respect because it will take longer for the Chinese industry to offer clean, non-polluting energy. Thus, the adoption of this technology in the near future can reduce the amount of pollution, which is useful in several aspects. Firstly, due to this, the climate will be restored and food production will be normalized. Secondly, minimizing emissions will no longer slow down agriculture and production, which will not be affected by sudden weather changes. Finally, the level of the nebula on the roads will decrease, which will reduce the number of traffic accidents.
For a more efficient implementation of this technology, a multinational corporation such as Toyota Motor Co., headquartered in China, can be involved. This corporation certainly contributes to the production of carbon dioxide around the world, being a major car manufacturer. Toyotas collaboration with the Chinese government on Orcas technology could accelerate the process of reducing air pollution and bring the country closer to achieving sustainability goals.
The use of Icelandic Orca technology can improve the situation with China in the long term. The processing of carbon dioxide into stones is a unique and innovative development that, despite the high cost, is able to demonstrate itself as extremely profitable in the long term. Cleaning up the atmosphere will save Chinese manufacturing from many of the heavy costs regularly demanded by climate change. In this way, China will be able to overcome the climate crisis and, in the long term, make its economy more resilient.
