Design of a Quality Program in Hawthorne Corporation Management Group

This paper will focus on the analysis of Hawthorne Corporation Management Group, being a senior analyst of this company I will deal with the development of a sustainable program that will promote and increase the sales of the company. Since I will be working in the chemical plants department, I will instill leadership in my fellow employees so that the chemical plant department of this company can become one of the most successful ones. Hawthorne being one of the founders of the petrochemical industries and also being the technology leader in the market sectors, we would like to maintain this status if not putting it into higher status. As a senior analyst, I will try to diversify the company because its market approach is one which provides goods in a single location but for different types of products. Hawthorne being located at the Tulsa suburb has had many challenges but the advantages have outweighed these challenges because labor is readily available and it is my responsibility as a senior analyst to develop a good program so as to capitalize on this advantage. It is also my responsibility to integrate the employees who are working in the Engineering and Research Department; this is because they work as consultants on plant-level issues.

Theories of Deming, Juran, and Crosby

These theories are important to this company since they highlight the significance of creating better products and services which will be relevant to the market and be able to beat competitors. The theory of Deming which he named 14 Point, highlights the importance of creating constancy in improving the products and services which makes them create employment and stay in business. This theory has pointed out the importance of creating better management of employees to create a better end result. It is important to improve the value of the employees in the company and later improve the quality of the products and services the company is producing or offering (Nijssen, 2006).

The other theory which is significant to CERG is Jurans philosophy, our company can use this theory to lay out the procedures of what will be done and how it will be done. This theory will be of most significance in the CERG while budgeting for what it will do and the cost implications. This mode of cost analysis will help CERG to offer services which are affordable to the customers.

Similarities and differences for a service organization versus an organization that makes a product

All organizations irrespective of what they are offering to the markets must have a good marketing team which will introduce consumers to the products or services they are offering. Without such a team the consumers will have no idea of new offers in markets. The other similarity these two organizations have is that they must have an organizational structure. This means that both companies must have a hierarchy of employees and a way in which the company is run (Edvardsson, 2007).

The differences between a product and a service organization are many but there are major ones such as a product company produces tangible goods, unlike service companies. Products are countable while services are valued in order to get the correct cost of the same. In a product company there must be a manufacturing zone to produce these products and it must have machines to do the same, while in the service company a manufacturing zone is not necessary for example in a consultancy firm (Edvardsson, 2007).
