Dual Language Learners Students in Head Start

Education is a significant part of every persons life in the modern world. Every characteristic of the student, such as their age, gender, and ethnicity, needs to be considered to provide high-quality information that they can use after they finish studying. One of the groups that need more attention from the teaching side is the dual language learners or DLLs. Every group of people deserves to receive a high-quality education.

Creating a friendly and supportive learning environment during large groups is crucial to support DLL students in their studying process. Significantly, prior inquiry into teachers beliefs demonstrates that a top priority of early childhood teachers is developing childrens social-emotional skills (Jacoby et al., 2019, p. 120). That is why these children need to be treated specially to form their ability to socialize through the lessons. Every teacher needs to have the ability to grow as a professional constantly. No one should be satisfied by the current situation because there is always room for development. According to the current situation, some children understand the material worse than others, and some are distracted during large groups. One of the ways to improve this type of lesson is to use visuals or different props to demonstrate and clarify information. Knowledge is always perceived better when it is visible, especially for children who form their understanding of the world based on multiple languages. Another way to draw large group attention is to use culturally relevant stories about their racial groups. Every child deserves to be proud of their race and ethnicity.

To conclude, it is crucial to convey information competently, especially when teaching children. Every group of people, including different races or immigrants from other countries, deserves to get an education. There are many creative ways to make education more exciting and entertaining. However, the main goal is to teach them how to socialize and direct them to use their bilingual peculiarity for the better.
