Body Paragraph 1
The first way Stanley Yelnats changes physically is from him being weak, slow, and overweight and to him improving to become strong. As you know, Stanley before he came to Camp Green Laker he was known for being slow, weak, and useless, this was because he rather stays home all day being lazy than go outside. On page 230, of the novel hole, the narrator states to the reader: know the percent change in Stanley’s weight. The quote expresses Stanleys weight change from when he was back at home to now when he was at Camp Green Lake. Stanleys weight change has transformed a lot since he moved to the camp, this was because he was digging holes every day and was being more productive. Accordingly, Stanley has managed to achieve his physical transformation from being weak to him improving his body weight and muscles.
Body Paragraph 2
Secondly, mentally changed as at the start he was considered a loser and also had no self-confidence in himself, as he was a victim of bullying. He changed to someone who stands up for himself and is more self-assured. It was fair to say before Stanleys Yelnats went camping in Green Lake he was known for being bullied and disliked at school, he was a man who didnt stand up for himself at all. Since Stanley moved to Camp Green Lake, people knew him for being a dork and a shy guy, but as of 2 weeks, people knew him as a caveman that stands up for themselves. In chapter 42 of the novel, the narrator states: before that he been unhappy at school where he had no friends, and bullies like Derrick Dunne pick on him. No one like him, and the truth was, he didnt especially like himself. (42.20-21). This quote elaborates on how Stanley felt when he was back at school compared to when he was at Camp Green Lake. Stanley was bullied and unliked at school, but until he came to Camp Green Lake he felt happier, this is because back at school Stanley had no friends, was bullied every day, and just didnt like it there. However, since he arrived at camp he has felt happier than ever this is because he had made some friends and has also been enjoying himself there. As a result, Stanley has felt happier since he was sent to Camp Green Lake, he has felt more comfortable around the guys and also has been enjoying himself there.
Paragraph 3
Thirdly, by changes in his circumstances. Stanley came from a poor family as he was living in an apartment. He was a 14-year-old hard-working who came from a poor family that was allegedly affected by a curse of bad luck which they blame on Stanleys no good dirty rotten pig stealing great grandfather. Mr. Pedanski declared: You messed up your life, and its up to you to fix it. (p. 58) This quote tells us Stanley has messed up his whole life, as he was sent to Camp Green Lake. Mr. Pendaski was like their mum he told him it wasnt going to be easy. Stanley knew what was going to happen, he knew he mess up his whole life. Mr. Pendaski also told him your responsible for yourself no one else is going do it for you for any of you.( ) Stanley knew this was going to be hard but it was for himself to go on and fix it. As Stanley had messed up his life by moving to Camp Green Lake, he knew it was going to be tuff. moving there as all the memories kick in when he was back at school how he use to get bullied and all but he didnt know what to expect.
