How Global Warming Affects Wildlife

Global warming is a matter of great concern since it affects humans and wildlife directly. However, global warming is typically caused by human activities. There is evidence of how global warming has negatively affected wildlife. It is an essential concern since many wildlife animals have died, and others are ultimately at risk of becoming extinct. Global warming causes climate changes that affect wildlife in many ways (Sattar et al. 10). Specifically, it affects the distribution of animals, causes mammals to hibernate earlier, and birds to lay eggs earlier than expected. Due to climate variability and changes affecting wildlife, changes disrupt their regular cycles.

Human beings are becoming lazy since most systems are computerized and the energy used there is enormous. Many fossil fuels are burned to meet the energy demands, releasing more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. The current human generation does not encourage a healthy lifestyle; everyone wants to own a car. As the production increases, the consequences increase since vehicles emit Carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The increased concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere has enormous environmental implications for wildlife animals.

One of the significant impacts of global warming is the change in animal habitats. Ever rising temperatures on earth can be attributed to global warming. The higher temperatures can cause wildlife animals who may find it challenging to live in some places. Some animals are adapted to a cooler environment and may find it difficult to survive in higher temperatures. Thus, global warming can create an inhospitable environment for such animals. Habitat loss can contribute to the death of wildlife animals. Global warming causes drought, which in turn dries wetlands that are home to many wildlife animals.

Undoubtedly, global warming poses a significant threat to wildlife animals. It has caused changes in temperature and rainfall patterns. These two are essential in influencing habitat quality and, consequently, the abundance of wildlife animals in any setting (Saklani and Khurana 45). All animals are vulnerable to climate change; only some animals are less vulnerable because of their ability to adapt to different environmental conditions. Understanding the impacts of global warming on wildlife is vital for the proper measures to protect biodiversity.

It is essential to understand the complex interaction between global warming and its effect on wildlife. Since it affects nature differently, there are specific differences in species of vulnerability to diseases, food accessibility changes, heat tolerance, and competitive advantages. The shifts of wildlife animals to new areas can sometimes lead to drastic changes, bringing substantial negative impacts. For example, in some countries where forests are being destroyed due to the influx of species eating them. This is not limited to forests only; some habitats have been destroyed due to transferred impacts.

Last but not least, it is clear that global warming is emerging as one of the most significant threats facing the planet today. Both wildlife and human beings are vulnerable to the negative impacts caused by climate change. Studies investigating global warming have proved that human activities are the major contributing factors to global warming. Therefore, the solution to address this challenge is within humans who created the same. Since the negative impacts are increasing daily, it is better to address the challenges earlier.

Importantly, immediate action cannot outdo some damages, such as the case of extinct species, and may prevent such happenings in the future. Some measures can be taken to help wildlife animals survive. Global warming and its effect on wildlife are important issues that should be addressed appropriately since they can help me determine future climatic expectations. Ideally, I have learned about the consensus that climate change is natural and human-caused. I was not aware of how global warming can affect wildlife but have realized it poses great danger. Nobody should disagree with me because the effects of global warming on wildlife are evident. The solution to this great challenge lies in the power of human beings to change their lifestyle habitats and preserve the environment.
