Importance of Corporate Social Responsibility

In the era of exponentially growing business companies, not everyone manages to consider the importance of social and environmental consequences from the action of entrepreneurs. The business world oftentimes is aggressive, straightly focused on increasing the cash flow. However, many successful firms develop strategies caring about social and environmental states as they started to understand that society, environment, and business are interconnected and interdependent at the same time (Porter & Kramer, 2006). From one side, promoting corporate social responsibility (CSR) to the companies might lead to positive changes as it has genuine purposes in the basement. Still, some of the entrepreneurs, feeling the pressure from legislation or society, can pretend according to the rules of CSR but at the same time cover their usual actions under a mask of caring.

Human nature is built in a way that when an individual feels pressure, he automatically wants to reject the proposal. Nevertheless, if the company orients on ethics and responsibility, it has a true will to make changes. Educating the population without strict legislation will lead to slow but genuine moves, especially when consumers start noticing the aspects of CSR. Some successful companies show an example by their action, for instance, Disney issued massive financial support to MedShare during the latest pandemics for nursing clothes, masks, and other supplies (The CSR Journal, 2021). Disney also supports minor populations, helped the American Red Cross, finances, and inspires diverse global communities protecting biodiversity among rare species (The CSR Journal, 2021). The company is indeed a reference point to other firms, and up-to-date entrepreneurs should aim to work according to CSR rules, care about their employees and the environment.
