Interconnection of Globalization and Culture
Analysis of social processes is governed by the idea of globalization in modern science. Globalization today is the determining factor in political, economic, and cultural development. It encloses the most important economic and social evolution processes that accelerated modernization, cultural change, and economic growth. Moreover, globalization innovates new issues and contradictions in the world economy. Most countries currently are encompassed in the diversified level of globalization. One sector in which exertion outlined the effects of multiculturalism is culture.
Cultures are constantly modifying, as some transforming is accidental, while others are forced on people during colonial war, rule, or occupation at the post wars. According to the chapter, varying culture is accelerating everywhere as innovations are being administered (Garske 36). The evolution of civilization is a mechanism for people to contribute to building a healthier world. Moreover, it is a platform for innovation that can contribute to growth.
The inaugurating change may vary based on the introduction phase of evolution to the people. Several barriers to rapid cultural transformation have been identified, including the consequences of the existing culture. According to the chapter, the existence of a culture of individuals may be one of defiance to conversion, or the solicited culture may discord with the one subsisting (Garske 47). For instance, in the film, it is identified that the green revolution is struggling to bring in new methodologies to farming to the people as they are not ready to leave their old mechanism, which they have been practicing for ten thousand years (A Thousand Suns Trailer). It is not easy to make the people from that region adapt to the new culture in such a scenario.
The second barrier is a lack of psychological safety, where the individual may feel anxious to adapt to new methods or information. To adopt a new culture, people require significant effort and time in training. As in the case of Gamo highlands for effective assimilation of the new culture, those bringing in change should take the initiative time to train them to hinder peoples resistance to change (A Thousand Suns Trailer). Lastly, if the new culture is unclear or ineffective, it does not establish how to attain the goal, and it may lead to opposition to culture change.
The main reason behind the cultural change or the significance of its successful execution from within can be highly motivating. When individuals acknowledge the importance of following a successful cultural change, they will be more willing to support the efforts required to accomplish it. An apparent comprehension of the advantages of a cultural transformation is vital to change as it provides a framework from which every value of change can be communicated.
Various factors can influence people to adapt to a new culture, such as contact ecological and geographical factors and technological evolution. When two societies are in contact, it affects change in both institutions; this is through acculturation and cultural diffusion. Technological transformation in a country initiates change in peoples culture, such as differences in communication, production technology, and transport. Ecological and geographical factors are physical factors that include attitude, and rainfall which affect the lifestyle of people.
In conclusion, despite serious issues, globalization has encouraged the funding of various initiatives in contemporary acts, contributing to the development of the market and product of modern art. Globalization of civilization leads to the convergence of tradition and the exchange of cultural values of various countries. Cultural globalization has characterized the growth of international communication and the intersection of consumer and business cultures between multiple countries globally. Alternatively, this initiates the advancement of peoples national traditions worldwide. However, the widespread multiracial cultural phenomena may displace or turn individuals into foreigners. Many regard this as a deprivation of the fight to revive the culture and cultural values.
