I believe that this song touches on the main concern of every person in modern life: death, possessions, and hunger. John Lennon encourages us to join him in a world where there are no countries, and everybody is united, living in peace. Furthermore, he emphasizes the lines about the nonexistence of heaven and hell as he puts them first; Lennon acknowledges the only sky above us. Consequently, he implemented any persons problems in the song and encouraged everyone to understand the happy life in the world as one. I reckon that is why this song speaks to most people at such a deep level.
The key point of the song is the imagination of the perfect world where there are no problems. John Lennon refuses to include religion, deaths, properties, and money in his ideal version of the world. The singer presents the idea that everyone should be united in the brotherhood, where people are alike and share no worries about their bright future. Overall, it seems that Lennon attempts to convince people not to be separated into groups according to their nationality, religion, and status, and support each other as ones equals.
Even though Lennon does not include religion in his perfect world, I still do believe that Christians can admire this song.
