Nursing Care and Quality Improvement
The recommendations of the annual report include a detailed description of the requirements for the activities of the various nursing organizations. The most important tenet promoted in this document is the provision of equitable conditions for the use of health care services. Moreover, great attention is paid in these guidelines to the fact that nursing activities cover all the existing determinants of health, independent of the focus of the individual staff members activities. Members of the staff should approach patient care in a more comprehensive manner, covering as many factors related to the diagnosis as possible (Engineering and Medicine National Academy of Medicine Committee National Academies of Sciences, 2021). According to the report, in order to ensure multidimensionality, it is important to ensure continuity of experience between the various organizations that train nurses or provide them with practice. Consequently, by improving the quality of nursing care, greater accessibility to care for all segments of patients can be achieved. Great emphasis has been placed on the fact that the training of staff must take into account all of their needs and interests.
Effective and well-established systems of incentives and insurance for students of medical institutions, regardless of their form of organization, must be developed. Moreover, equality must be ensured in the organization of treatment in non-standard situations, including pandemic conditions. The development program has devoted considerable attention to health equity issues, since quarantine conditions have exposed many unresolved problems of access to treatment. Moreover, health equity involves the development of inclusiveness, many groups of people suffering more from climate change conditions than those living in favorable conditions. For example, people in Africa and many other disadvantaged areas are disproportionately less able to withstand global world processes. In Nigeria, only 20 percent of the population, most of whom are in the privileged class, have access to basic services, including midwifery or pediatric consultations (Leaf, 2018). Nevertheless, serious inequalities also exist in developed countries, due in large part to unresolved issues of racial discrimination. For example, in black neighborhoods in the United States, there is a relatively low level of access to health care compared to white citizens (Leaf, 2018). An important aspect of the report is related to the social determinants of health.
The latter include the conditions that surround people throughout their lives. Particularly important are the circumstances of work, birth, and upbringing. Given the changes the world is undergoing in the determinants of health, the report offers some important recommendations. Currently, nearly 4 percent of the population is in different countries illegally, hence, as migrants, they are not able to be full patients at clinics (Leaf, 2018). This significantly affects the quality of health of many social groups.
One cannot ignore such a factor as the social norms and mechanisms of interpersonal relations prevalent within a particular community. For example, stratification in access to health services is highly developed in the context of racism or discrimination. Scholars have noted the quality of food and housing that shape the health of populations in individual countries. Health problems can be seen both in the lack of food in economically underdeveloped regions and in its overabundance, where stomach problems appear. Housing quality is only indirectly related to physical health; the most important point of contact will be psychological discomfort, which affects life expectancy (Nasem, 2019). Often peoples level of education has a significant impact on health outcomes. Citizens who have access to learning how to self-care and self-care have a greater propensity to detect timely diagnoses.
Nurses play a critical role in ensuring equality and addressing all social needs of patients. This is because it is this group of professionals who spend more time with hospital clients. They have more information about patients backgrounds and devote more time to communicating with them. It is the nurses who end up having a better understanding of the social needs of those to whom they prescribe treatment. At the same time, it is the responsibility of these professionals to maintain an appropriate level of motivation among their colleagues (Leaf, 2018). The nursing profession is one of the major professions associated with a high level of mental exhaustion. Burnout occurs when many negative emotions are accumulated, triggered by unpleasant situations at work. The latter include the need for great emotional involvement in dealing with patients, the risk of overwork on the night shift, and making non-standard decisions. All professionals in this field can be divided into 3 types in terms of attitude, including pedants, demonstrative, and aesthetic personalities. Each of them, for different reasons, may feel pressure from job duties.
Self-help skills that avoid burnout are important in maintaining a comfortable work environment. Nurses should have skills of psychological self-help in order to reduce the impact of negative factors of work on self-health (Nasem, 2019). To maintain personal and spiritual health, it is important to maintain a community, have regular psychological supervision, and have hobbies that take your mind off work. These steps will make being in a difficult and demanding.
