Nursing Informatics Policy and Its Influence on Healthcare Delivery

The development of nursing information structures is an essential factor in improving the delivery of health services. It includes the development of regulations that will make the mechanisms of the individual and the healthcare institution interaction safe and convenient. In addition, the goal is to provide patients with confidence in their social and information security. The aim of the work is to analyze the selected health informatics policy, the impact on the system implementation, and the influence on the care.

Care must apply the mechanisms of dealing with the patients personal information, which will not cause any harm and will be used as efficiently as possible. Further, it mainly concerns the interaction of the staff and the medical institution with the medical information about the patient, the degree of use, and the level of trust. The basement of selected police is the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA), which was an important foundation for further improving the clinical information exchange system. The Draft Trusted Exchange and Common Agreement was released in January 2018 and became a significant aspect of the nursing informational dimension development due to its structure (HealthIt, 2022). This regulation was composed of six basic principles that covered the essential aspects which formulated its effectiveness.

These principles were developed to build trust between the following stakeholders of the healthcare system, namely patients, institutions, and Health Information Networks (HINs). These principles can be conditionally divided into two groups, and the first of them includes standardization, transparency, cooperation, and nondiscrimination (HealthIt, 2022). Thus, it involves ensuring that adequate procedures, standards, and policies are being transparently used. Additionally, the regulation provides the secure exchange of clinical information even if the stakeholder is a competitor. The second group implies security and patient safety, access, and data-driven accountability (HealthIt, 2022). That is, it promotes the prioritizing the protection of the information exchange and dissemination, and efficient and unhindered access to data.

The increased efficiency of working principles articulates the impact of the policy on system implementation. In other words, prioritizing access, security, and data safety contributes to creating forceful mechanisms for interacting with the existing structure. Thus, the implementation mechanism becomes safer and more productive due to rapid adaptation to the informational dimension of the medical system. Besides, the policy has a positive impact on clinical care, patient/provider interactions, and workflow. As already indicated, the priority of transparency, efficiency, and data security contribute to the effective implementation of the system. However, it also has a positive effect on the relationship between the patient and the healthcare system. It helps to attract new customers and positive reviews, which will positively affect the workflow.

Furthermore, there will be several policies and procedures which are in place in my healthcare organization. It will include the exchange of several records simultaneously to provide the ability to group data to ensure a high level of public health. In other words, it involves improving the existing mechanism for the exchange of information and influencing the health situation. In addition, the policy will also affect the procedures for improving access to information of patients and caregivers.

To conclude, health and nursing informatics are an essential part of healthcare as a whole. Particular acts and regulations contribute to the accurate development of certain aspects of the healthcare system. The significant area is the information exchange and storing, which formulates the confidence factor. Therefore, The Draft Trusted Exchange and Common Agreement promoted increasing the efficiency and safety of the abovementioned mechanisms.
