The identified film is The Physician by Philipp Stölzl. The movie is about the life of a young man who lost his mother to appendicitis. Before losing the mother, he discovers the unique gift that enabled him to know about his mothers illness. In this case, the focus is based on the similarities induced between The Physician and the novel The Foundation of a New Homeland: the Aeneid.
Both the analyzed film and the novel show some similarities that are analyzed in the paper. In the movie, the young man is introduced, he suffers from the pain of losing his mother without knowing how to treat her illness. The character has a special gift and manages to identifie the illness in his mother, but he cannot treat the disease. It is similar to the selected novel, The Foundation of a New Homeland: the Aeneid as Aeneas represents a dominant character who undergoes a painful experience in his town together with his father. They try to flee from their home city, which is destroyed during the war. He faces many hardship as he attempts to find way out of the destroyed city. The major characters in the film and novel undergo pain while trying to find the best way to help their families. Another essential character in The Physician is Sina as he presents various aspects of life.
