Once you feel you understand the story, its plot analysis, and its corresponding literary terms, you will put together a “presentation project” that would enable you to teach the class about your story and about your terms if you were to present it. Your presentation project will …
Include two pre-reading questions. These questions should help the reader think about ideas related to the story.
After creating the questions, please provide an exemplary answer to those questions (in other words, what do you envision to be an excellent response to the questions).
Present a plot diagram of the story. This includes full exposition (identifying the protagonist/antagonist, conflict, and setting), at least three (3) events in the rising action, the climax, at least one (1) event from falling action, and the resolution. You must supply quotes for all of the details you provide in each part of the plot diagram except for the exposition.
You will need to define two (2) chosen literary term(s) and somehow provide examples of this term by applying the term(s) to the story you have read. You should at least have two (2) examples of your literary terms directly from the text (provide the page number).
Finally, you will need to come up with at least three (3) post-reading questions. After creating the questions, please again provide an exemplary answer to those questions.
The first question should relate back to the pre-reading question(s) and should relate to the content/ideas within the story.
The second question should ask the reader to personally connect to the story in some way.
The third question should ask the reader to connect the ideas of the story to his/her community, the nation, or even the world.
Everyone should participate in everything that the group does. Everyone MUST have a speaking role for the presentation. Be sure you are breaking up the work according to each person’s set skill and/or confidence level.
Go to the PEOPLE link. This is where you will see your Team.
EVALUATION
No one person can do the assignment alone. Everyone in the group must have an active role. If a member of the team does not participate, that student will receive a zero.
You must have an active discussion board thread showing your planing process. Use your group’s discussion board. By active, I mean I want to READ all your notes, ideas, planning of parts, outlines, EVERYTHING. I want to see this in your team’s discussion board. GO to People then locate your team!
You Need at Least 3 Recorded meetings before the Final Recording. Use the Conferences in your group. Be sure these meetings are recorded. Remember, I want to read and watch all your plans. Everything.
Everyone will submit his or her own Short Story Analysis Guide. But you will need to collaborate for the Presentation.
Please submit a Recorded MP4 file as your presentation. You may use any recording presentation software. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 3 RECORDED PLANNING MEETINGS BEFORE YOU SUBMIT THE Presentation. Only ONE person in the team needs to submit the presentation.
Do not email me about your team member’s participation. Remember I can read and see what each member is doing based on their interaction in the team’s discussion board AND meetings. GO TO PEOPLE. Start Planning.
80% of the grade for this assignment is the planning. Good luck!
