Discuss two (2) SMART goals that you can achieve in the next three weeks which will jump-start your mastery journey to your dream career. Citations. Provide a list of the sources you used to draft your script using APA format. Record your 3-5 minute presentation in a video format. See the “Video Criteria” section below for more information. NOTE: Take quality videotaping elements into consideration, like good lighting, proper sound and/or music, and location. Getting Started with Your Presentation Using your presentation software of choice (Keynote, PowerPoint, Google Slides, etc.) create a 3-5 minute narrated presentation that shows AND tells your story. A narrated presentation is one in which your slides include a voice over explaining what is being shown on screen. To be clear, the deliverable for this activity is a video of your presentation, not a Keynote or PowerPoint file. What if my presentation is longer than 5 minutes? Keeping your presentation short forces you to do several important things: Compose your notes ahead of time Record the voice over from a script Keep your insights brief, yet impactful Honor best practices for creating engaging media How to Write SMART Goals S: Specific M: Measurable A: Achievable R: Relevant or Realistic T: Time-bound For this course, anytime you are working on goal setting, your goals should follow the SMART goal model. SMART Goal Example: In the next three weeks, I will create a LinkedIn profile and request to connect with 5 people who are working in my desired industry. *Each SMART Goal should contain ALL 5 SMART elements. How To Set SMART Goals (02:45) Video Criteria You should appear in the video. You may use graphics, photos, and minimal text if desired, however, no points will be deducted if you do not use them. Include your sources using APA Format. Upload your final presentation video to FSO. Please note that upload speeds tend to slow down when large numbers of students are accessing FSO. Light should be on your face rather than behind your head. Script your presentation. Read it several times out loud to gain a flow and memory of the content. Create presentation points and place them in an area that appears that you are looking into the camera. Set the video to unlisted or public. Do not set as Private. A 20-point (late submission) deduction will be incurred for videos set to private, as the instructor cannot view the video.
