Purpose: The purpose of this project is for the student to demonstrate an ability to develop, write, and present a sound original argument. Students will use the skills learned in Critical Thinking to complete this project.
Plan and Prepare
Students will/must select a topic from the major project topics list, determine an issue question, and research that issue question.
Students will come to a conclusion based on reasons established during the research process. The topic, issue question, and argument must be submitted to the instructor for approval. See submission dates.
Practice (proofread, review, etc), Produce and Present
Once the topic selection, issue question, and argument have been prepared students will complete a three-page report.
Follow These Instructions Carefully:
Page One: Write your topic, issue question, and argument in the proper form (Nothing else goes on this page.) (33 points)
Page Two: Write a one-page summary of their argument. (34 points)
This summary must include the issue question and argument.
The purpose of this summary is for the students to expand upon their reasons (present evidence, etc).
3. Page Three: Complete a Works Cited page with the title “Works Cited.” This page will contain all of your books, resources, websites, etc (33points)
1. The works cited list must contain at least five individual sources.
2. At least two of those sources must be books.
3. Only 3 of your sources may be websites.
a. Any websites used must be official websites (universities, colleges, government agencies, research agencies, etc).
b.Wikipedia, all encyclopedias, and non-scholarly websites are not permitted.
c. Sources should be cited using a proper academic citation style (MLA or APA).
