The Logic of a Systematic Approach

Any organizational process is based on the logic of a systematic approach (Teece, 2018). Systems theory assumes that a system consists of interdependent and interconnected parts that interact during the workflow (Gordon, 2022). Contributing to each other, the elements stimulate the well-coordinated work of the organization without failures and weak points. In this context, the main characteristics include subsystems, holism, synergy, open and closed systems, and the system boundary (Gordon, 2022). Due to them, the system can create a competent approach to management and simplify the work of communication in organizations.

The systems major components are inputs, a transformational process, outputs, feedback, and the environment (Gordon, 2022). Using the example of a hospital, the inputs component, which includes raw materials, human resources, and technologies, manifests itself in the form of medical personnel. Each medic will have a specialized task inside the hospital, reflecting the transformational process aspect. In providing medical care, each doctor gives professional service with positive or negative practical results. In this context, this result can be considered a component of outputs. The results shown will affect the staff and manifest themselves as payment, verbal gratitude, or promotion, which reflects the feedback aspect. Ultimately, the environmental element always has an impact on the system. In the example of the hospital, it is worth considering the political situation in the country as a factor that can influence the work of staff. Without interacting with the system directly, it still affects the existence of the hospital and the well-being of doctors and patients, which is why the environmental component cannot be ignored.
